Last year Jay-Z and Beyonce had to settle for the #2 position on Forbes‘ Highest-Paid Celebrity Couples list. But with so many high-profile splits over the past 12 months, it’s no surprise that Blue Ivy Carter’s big bucks mom and pop have finally ascended the throne this time around. The money-monitoring publication notes that Bey raked in a cool $40 million between May 1, 2011 and May 1, 2012 from music sales, royalties off her old material and her lucrative endorsement deals.
Hova, on the other hand, saw an additional $38 million hit his bank account thanks to his Kanye West pair-up Watch The Throne and the album’s related world tour. Ever the smart businessman, Jay’s also got cash rolling in from deals with companies outside the music realm, such as ad firm Translation, cosmetics company Carol’s Daughter and pro basketball team the Brooklyn Nets. Got to pay those bills, bills, bills, after all.
