Jennifer Lawrence Does Dior Proud in a Guipure Crop Top

Jennifer Lawrence has had her share of red carpet hits and misses since stepping out into the spotlight around three years ago, with the fashion police going easy on then-19-year-old up-and-coming actress since she was only starting to make a name for herself. At 19, the actress was cast alongside big names such as Halle Berry and Hugh Jackman for the X-Men series, but failed to get international recognition since her character Mystique required that she become unrecognizable onscreen. It wasn't until The Hunger Games was released in 2012 that Jennifer was catapulted straight into the Hollywood spotlight and into the not-so-loving arms of tough fashion critics.

In November of 2012, Jennifer hired the much-coveted stylist to the A-list celebrities, Rachel Zoe, who produced her first big moment on the red carpet at the 2013 Oscars. We're not sure if it was the gorgeous voluminous Dior Couture gown that Rachel Zoe dressed her in (or the fact that she tripped on her way up to the stage to claim her award) that blew up her red carpet moment to epic proportions, but one thing is for sure - Jennifer is no longer letting her style guard down. The actress arrived at the Paris Fashion Week for the Christian Dior show clad in none other than Dior from their Resort 2014 collection.

Jennifer picked out a guipure lace cropped top and matching wool pants ensemble for the show. The beautiful guipure lace top is echoed in the pants by running a lace strip down one leg of the wide-legged pair. Guipure has been a favorite of designers for the last few seasons because it lacks the mesh that usually acts as the foundation for the lace, making the patterns stand out on their own even more. This type of lace has been made even more famous when Victoria's Secret models Miranda Kerr and Candice Swanepoel donned gorgeous guipure dresses from the Australian brand Lover.

Vintage Tee Lover? Grab Ashley Greene’s Rocking Shirt Now!

It seems like Kristen Stewart isn't the only Twilight actress with a vintage tee obsession. Ashley Greene has also been spotted numerous times wearing some sort of rugged vintage tee whenever she's out and about on an errand, headed to the gym, or even just to get her caffeine fix, and so on.

This time around, the 25-year-old actress was seen wearing a distressed skull-printed tee by CBGB & OMFUG while getting her smoothie fix in West Hollywood last Wednesday. Ashley looked like she just put on whatever was lying around in her closet but she did rock this vintage tee nevertheless.

Rita Ora Gets Funky Even on Laundry Day—Check Out Her Tee!

Well, Rita Ora certainly lives up to her funky and hip signature style even when she's off-duty or in this case, even while she's doing laundry. The 22-year-old singer-songwriter was seen carrying a laundry bag on a warm and sunny day in London last Wednesday but even if Rita was running errands during that day, she didn't make any effort of hiding from the paps as seen in her choice of eye-catching outfit.

Rita wore a very colorful shirt that featured a "Free Wifi" print by WIA Collection. And this shirt was certainly enough in drawing attention to her but we can't really blame her for having an innate eccentric taste in fashion, don't you agree? After all, it's one of the many reasons why we love her in the first place!

If you're into hip and funky pieces yourself, then this colorful and eye-catching "Free Wifi" tee by WIA Collection would certainly be a great addition to your wardrobe. And of course there's no better season than summer to wear this bright and colorful tee, don't you think so?

Packing for Children

6 Simple Tips reblogged from Fodor's Newsletter

May 16, 2011 | Posted in Practical Travel Tips | Fodor's Editors

Whether your family is heading out for a long flight or a quick road trip, reduce your pre-trip stress with our simple family travel packing tips. From making a list to creative carry-ons, you'll help prevent adult and kid meltdowns away from home (it's amazing how the smallest of stuffed animals can test everyone's sanity).

Familly-packing-luggage.jpg

1. Give everyone his or her own bag.
Individual suitcases (preferably different colors-red for one, blue for another) help you locate items in a hurry. This will make life easy at the airport, as even little kids are not only capable of toting around a mini-Pullman-they often enjoy it.

2. Assemble one toiletry kit for all the kids.
Today's rules regarding carry-on liquids mean more shampoos in checked baggage-and more potential for messy spills. Checking one bag with all spillable items (as well as beauty items such as hair dryers and makeup) saves you from a potential trip to the Laundromat upon arrival. It also eases unpacking, allowing you to deposit the entire case right in the bathroom.

3. Make packing lists for each child.
List each item as it's packed, and stow the complete itemization in the suitcase. The arrangement will help you repack at the end of the trip and give you the peace of mind of knowing everything that came is going back home.

4. Pack a family carry-on.
One bag of essentials saves heartache if a bag is temporarily lost. Include one outfit for everyone, as well as prescriptions and other must-haves. A communal bag also simplifies car travel, giving quick access to overnight necessities for midway stops instead of unpacking the whole car.

5. Consider creative carry-ons.
Soft coolers make great carry-on luggage. Roomy and crushable, they're perfect for nonbreakable items (such as those extra outfits) and help you cut your food bill by becoming picnic baskets for takeout meals.

6. Think plastic.
Plastic bags protect delicate items from spills inside your suitcase. They'll also be invaluable at trip's end for dirty laundry and any wet clothes coming home.

Solange Turns A Mini-Mall Into A Disco For “Lovers In The Parking Lot” Video: Watch

Get In The Groove

“Lovers In The Parking Lot,” arguably the best song off Solange‘s great True EP, finally gets an official music video. In the clip (which she co-directed), the singer shows off her signature two-step dance moves and her glorious Diana Ross-inspired curls while dressed in colorful, space-agey getups - peep her light-up sneakers! It all goes down after dark in a suburban mini-mall in Houston, where Big TymersMannie Fresh and Bun B make surprise appearances.

In addition to forming her own label, Saint Records, Solange is planning to release her third studio album next year. She revealed that indie artists like Sampha (Drake, Jessie Ware), Dave Longstreith (The Dirty Projectors) and Patrick Wimberly (Chairlift) have been involved in the songwriting process.

Is Anna Wintour Planning to Revamp Glamour Next?

Getty

Ever since being named artistic director at Conde Nast, Anna Wintour has slowly been making editorial changes at publications that need to be turned around. First came major masthead shakeups at Lucky, then Conde Nast Traveler–so which glossy is next on Wintour’s list?

A juicy new piece on the Vogue editor-in-chief in the New York Times reports that Wintour may have set her sights on Glamour. The women’s title has apparently lost 28 percent in newsstand sales in the year ending in June–a shockingly large drop.

An exec at a competing company “with direct knowledge of the discussions” told the Times that Wintour had approached one of his employees to fill the role of creative director at Glamour; apparently that person was told that he or she would report to Wintour, not EIC Cindi Leive. It’s a move that may sound a tad familiar: Wintour brought Eva Chen onto Lucky initially to serve as a consultant, before axing former EIC Brandon Holley and putting Chen in the driver’s seat of the troubled title.

Charles Townsend, the chief executive of Cond Nast, acknowledged discussions for new Glamour hires had taken place while denying that the new position would report directly to Wintour. As for Wintour, she had only this to say: “These are very early days, and I don't want to say anything that would take the focus off the magazines and their editors, whom I hold in very high regard.”

Still, it’s got to be a bit troubling for editors at Glamour, who have already seen colleagues get the pink slip treatment. As the Times puts it, “Now, a magazine belongs to its editor until it does not.” On the other hand, Wintour’s magic touch–and years and years of experience–can only help a glossy. Plus, Leive and the whole Glamour staff have already proven themselves to be a formidable team, solidifying the glossy’s spot as Conde Nast’s most profitable title. Needless to say we’ll be watching to see what sort of changes Wintour will make.

We’ve reached out to Glamour for comment and are waiting to hear back.

Demi Lovato Injects a Touch of Rocker Chic into a Sophisticated White Top

Demi Lovato is kicking off yet another season of X Factor with her co-judges Simon Cowell, Kelly Rowland and Paulina Rubio by holding the Los Angeles auditions. Demi seemed to beam with happiness as she had her photos taken with the rest of the judges, with tough-as-a-rock Simon even seemingly demonstrating a protective mentor-like fondness over the promising young lady as seen by their comfortableness around each other.

The former Disney star looked radiant in a girl-next-door ensemble of jeans and a white top - and no, we don't think it was just the outfit that was doing all the glowing for her. Demi admitted that her personal style isn't strongly based on certain fashion icons, but rather that she dresses according to what makes her feel confident and beautiful. Her style discipline definitely translates well with her since resurfacing from her long history of emotional battles, all of which she aggressively fought and eventually overcame. It is never easy to grow up in the spotlight, so it is quite rare to see a celebrity rise from the ashes and even more so to surpass the level of success that they have attained previously.

The blonde beauty looked effortlessly chic in a Joseph blouse with a ruffle detail attached to the front button closure. Demi decided to add a little of her personal style into it but buttoning it down to reveal a pretty black lace bralet and adorning it with a lovely tasseled gold necklace. To counter the edginess of the peeking bralet and her full black eyeliner look, Demi rolled up her sleeves to balance out the look.

Heidi Klum Joins the Palm Print Bandwagon

From swimsuits to cotton tops, the palm print trend, along with everything else that's beach-related, is all the rage this summer. It does not come as a surprise then that fashion household names, such as former supermodel Heidi Klum, would not dare let themselves fall even one step behind the fashion pack. The ever-cheerful model-turned-host was seen spending an afternoon with her children and boyfriend Martin Kristen in Manhattan in none other than these funky tree prints.

Heidi has been making consistent waves with her outfit choices lately (we're still not over her perfectly polished all-blue leather skirt ensemble), which gives us enough reason to run for our keyboards and tap away on search engines to get our daily Klum outfit fix. Heidi was spotted enjoying a casual meal in a long-sleeved cotton palm tree print blouse, denim shorts, oversized sunnies and thong sandal flats.

Heidi Klum in Maison Scotch Palm Tree TShirt

Heidi Klum spotted on a day out with her children and boyfriend Martin Kristen in Manhattan - 9 July 2013

The Maison Scotch Palm Tree Shirt is a white cotton blend shirt with a front button closure, long-sleeves, classic colar and a chest pocket. The rather unisex print is made more feminine by the highly-noticeable curved hem. The shirt tends to wrinkle after a while of wearing it, which may make it more apt for casual wear.

For your dose of summery palm prints, get your Maison Scotch cotton blend piece from Farfetch.
