HHGS Rumor: Are Erica Dixon & Lil Scrappy Over?
Last week Thursday, I attended the premier party for Vh1's "Love & Hip Hop Atlanta". Not every cast member was available to make it out, but K. Michelle, Stevie J, Joseline Hernandez, Erica Dixon and Mimi Faust were on hand enjoying in the festivities.
During the Q&A portion of the party, Joseline was not in attendance and many said it was due to an argument she had with Stevie J. However, it wasn't Joseline's absence that had everybody mumbling. It was Erica Dixon!!
As we all saw on the reunion show of season 1's "Love & Hip Hop Atlanta", Lil Scrappy proposed to his baby mama, Erica Dixon, and wanted to make things right with her. In the process, Lil Scrappy left Shay Johnson crying and upset and Erica ended up with a ring on her finger. However,.................click on that "Read More" button below to read the rest:
The funny thing about it all was that Erica Dixon was NOT sporting her engagement ring and of course, Scrappy was NOT in attendance at the "Love & Hip Hop Atlanta" premier. So here are some questions I have in my mind. Are Scrappy and Erica together? Did they break up? Did Mama Dee finally get Scrappy and Shay back together? Or did Erica have enough of Scrappy's mom?
All these questions and not enough answers. Now what say you? I'll hold!
A Fan Pays For Joe Budden & Tahiry's Dinner
I received a cute little email about Joe Budden and Tahiry and thought that my readers might enjoy it. I know I'm usually posting on "Gossip" and things of that nature, but every now and again I do like to post up some good items that don't necessarily have to do with "Gossip". So on that note, let's get into my email from Jason who happens to be a big fan of both Joe Budden and Tahiry.
Click on that "Read More" button below to read the rest:
Vivian,
I went to "Sabroso's" in North Bergen New Jersey because we saw the episode of Vh1's "Love & Hip Hop New York" with Joe and Tahiry where she shook the table. I went there last week and they opened the door and bam!! There they were!
I was floored because we went there strictly because we saw the show and thought it looked cool and we even sat next to Joe and Tahiry. I thought the baller move would be to pay for their dinner so it would open an exchange in words and it worked! They are 100% meant to be for sure! Real cool couple and I truly wish them well.
Joe asked me why I paid for their dinner and I said well, we are huge fans of the show and to please think of it as our contribution to their relationships happiness. And that's my story. Saw the show tonight you looked great good luck with everything.
Jay
What an awesome fan story! Hopefully, I'll get to post more, but in the meantime what do you guys think?

Annie’s “Invisible”: Hear The Deep Rave-Inspired New Track
Norwegian electropop sylph Annie has unveiled yet another new song from her The A&R EP collaboration with Richard X, and this one marks her deepest, darkest and danciest track yet: “Invisible” features some deep ’90s rave instrumentation (the closest modern equivalent, to me, is Azealia Banks‘ “Liquorice,” but this is much better). It’s as ’90s as everyone else who’s doing ’90s wants to be but never quite is, and strikingly atmospheric in the rave vibe it evokes; at one point, her vocals even get pitched deep enough that she’s rapping in a man’s voice.
That contrast of high and low has always elevated Annie’s work beyond her contemporaries, and it continues to do so here.
Listen below.

Watch Ariana Grande Rap Along To Big Sean’s “Guap”
Grande Gettin' Guap Right Now |
We already knew Ariana Grande had a killer voice. What we didn’t know is that she’s apparently a hip-hop nerd and likes to take a few runs on the mic. The pint-sized singer recently appeared on Power 106′s Big Boy's Neighborhood, and she rapped along to a couple minutes of Big Sean‘s “Guap.” Grande was a little rusty, but when she got her bearings straight, girl had some flow! (Even though her crew totally abandoned her on the hook.) Also, she hilariously does the G.O.O.D. Music MC’s “God, oh God” ad libs at the beginning of the track.
Check it out up top.
Maybe she didn’t need Mac Miller‘s mailed-in verse on “The Way” after all…

The Rise and Rise of Kate Spade Saturday
Even with the backing of a corporation and the benefits of being associated with a brand-name big sister, Kate Spade Saturday‘s ascent is pretty damn impressive.
Last week, the line-which offers tomboy separates that play nicely with (or against) Kate Spade New York’s prim and pretty silhouettes-announced that it would open a 3,000-square-foot store at 152 Spring Street. That’s just a door down from one of its “shoppable storefronts,” which, for most of June, allowed shoppers to buy Kate Spade Saturday items from a window screen. You could browse up to 30 items at a time, place an order and have it delivered anywhere in the city within an hour. On July 19, the brand opened a pop-up shop at 30 Gansevoort, which will be around through October. (Its closing will presumably coincide with the opening of the permanent boutique.) “We have big plans for this brand,” brand director Kyle Andrew told WWD. There are already six permanent stores in Japan, with plans to open more. More US stores-including other Manhattan locations as well as outposts on the West Coast-are also in the works.
To top it all off, the label just released its Resort 2014 look book exclusively to Fashionista. As a big proponent of the brand-as in, I’ve already spent way too much money on Kate Spade Saturday tops, bottoms and dresses-these new looks are just the thing to stave off my can-it-be-the-weekend-already angst. A bit of a departure from the saturated, pop-art looks of previous seasons, this collection is a little more lady-like, but nowhere near saccharine. Click through to check it out.

Q&A with Mac Bishop: Founder of NATIVE(X)
NATIVE(X) Wasco Tote in Red.
When Mac Bishop, the son of the Pendleton Woolen Mills’ president, decided to embark on his own endeavor using Pendleton’s iconic Native-inspired wool as a jumping-off point, he created an entirely unique approach to implementing the distinctive fabric with his line NATIVE(X). In collaboration with Native American artist Nathaniel Wilkerson, NATIVE(X)’s American made totes and scarves delve into popular Native American
mythology, creating an entirely original line of goods.
Each item shares a piece of Native American history with its owner by encapsulating a small remnant of Native Northwest Coast legend. The Wasco Tote pays homage to the mythical sea monster for which it is named, displaying a distinctive image of the Wasco on the front of the bag. With the head and tail of a wolf and the fins and blowhole of a killer whale, the Wasco serves as a spirit guide to the Haida Fisherman. Nathaniel Wilkerson developed his interpretations of the legendary beast based on private carving lessons his mother arranged for him as a boy with renowned Haida artist Freda Diesing.
Similarly the Medeek Scarf’s logo plays a role in Gitxsan lore, Nathaniel’s tribe, depicting a mythological grizzly bear. Referred to as the Elder Kinsman, the Medeek is one of the most prominent figures in shamanic art and myth. According to Gitxsan legend, the Medeek appears in bear form but can also metamorphose into a human being, having been born of both human and bear. Both the Medeek Scarf and the Wasco Tote rely on bright hues and vibrant colors to make the designs so spectacular. As beautiful as the photos are, the images below don’t do them justice.
NATIVE(X) Wasco Totes in Red, Turquoise and Ivory $78.
Haute Americana: Where are your scarves and totes manufactured?
Mac Bishop: The scarves and totes are both manufactured in Portland, Oregon, my hometown. The fabric comes from Pendleton Woolen Mills and the leather comes from Ohio. USA, USA, USA!
NATIVE(X) Founder Mac Bishop
HA: What inspired you to manufacture your new accessories line in the United States?
MB: I like being involved with the manufacturing process, and looked no further than my hometown when deciding where the accessories should be made. “Made in America” feels right to me. As you can see, the quality and craftsmanship of the scarves and totes are top-notch, but it’s more than that. By being 100% American, these accessories exude a sense of pride and ownership that can’t be found with imported items.
HA: Being from Portland, how does your hometown influence your line and personal style in NYC?
MB: I rock my Pendleton flannels all day! On the East coast, its all about the khakis and button downs. I keep it classy, but try and mix it up with some colorful cords, basic generic surplus Plimsoll shoes, or some solid flannel button-ups.
HA: How has your dad’s career at Pendleton influenced NATIVE(X)?
MB: Pendleton is a family business with origins dating back to my great, great, great grandpa, Thomas Kay. Dad is now the president. I’ve been surrounded by Pendleton my entire life – from spending weekends with Dad to look at the line, to my first job working in the distribution center as a high school student.
Pendleton has definitely influenced NATIVE(X). What differentiates NATIVE(X)
from Pendleton is the extent to which there is collaboration with the Native
community and its artists. Everything you see at NATIVE(X)l has an authentic
Native design, which is pretty cool.
NATIVE(X) Medeek Scarf in Red $30.
HA: What inspired you to become involved with Native artists and to bring their work to a larger audience through your brand?
MB: At its core, NATIVE(X) aspires to accomplish two things: expose consumers to
Native culture and promote authentic Native design.
I’m personally not telling the Native story. A) I’m not Native and B) I’m no
expert on Native culture. I simply want to build a platform that allows Native
artists to share their story with a larger audience and sell to a wider consumer
base. Native culture and art is beautiful. Through a social business, I want to give
others the opportunity to enjoy and value it.
HA: Where did you and Nathaniel Wilkerson draw inspiration for the Wasco Tote and the Medeek Scarf?
MB: Nathan and I initially met over the interwebs, and then six months later I drove
up to Lynnwood, Washington, and met him and his family. At this meeting, we did
the video interview (embedded below) that you see on the site today.
The concept of the tote and the scarves were inspired by Nathan’s Northwest
coast designs. Each design has an incredible legend.
NATIVE(X) Wasco Tote in Ivory $78.
HA: Any plans to expand your line with more items made in the U.S.?
MB: Of course. I want to make more bags. A really simple perfectly engineered
backpack is in the works.
HA: With the holidays fast approaching, anything in particular you’re eyeing this Christmas?
MB: Anything from Tanner Goods or Hold Fast …or both. Ohh, and socks
too. A man always needs socks. Basic socks, colorful socks, wool dress socks…
