'On the Road': A Wildly Fun Ride

On The Road

The highly-anticipated film "On the Road", based on the generation-defining novel by Jack Kerouac, premiered at New York's SVA Theater last night. Director Walter Salles introduced stars Garrett Hedlund (who plays Sal Paradise), Sam Riley (Dean Moriarty), Kirsten Dunst (Camille) and Kristen Stewart (Marylou) to the crowded room and thanked those who were involved in the 8-year-long effort to adapt the famous novel for the silver screen. The film chronicles Sal and Dean's sex- and drug-fueled adventures through the U.S. and Mexico, and brings the ultimate road-trip story to life. A holiday must-see for any fan of the cult classic.

On the Road opens in select theaters December 21.
