Lady Gaga Cleans Up for the Oscars but Still Wears Skyscraper Platforms

We're so used to seeing Lady Gaga with her crazy fashion that when she cleans up, we're always taken aback. The eccentric artist left her meat dress at home (or in the fridge) and glammed up for the Oscars a couple of days ago, and we are pretty impressed with how she looked.

She donned a gorgeous Atelier Versace gown at the Vanity Fair Oscars Party after the awards show. The strapless frock features crystal embellishments on the sexy semi-sheer bodice. The singer finished the look with flawless makeup and Lorraine Schwartz jewelry.

Although Mother Monster was all dolled up and lovely, she naturally just had to add some quirk to her wardrobe. We had a quick glimpse of her shoes - a pair of sky-high platform sandals. These custom-made Brian Atwood shoes are 9 inches high! This is a pretty unusual pair to wear at such a glamorous affair, but hey, this is Gaga we're talking about! The sky-high platforms would look really awkward on someone else, but they looked like they belong on Lady Gaga's feet. We think she pulled it off. Don't you think so?

Earlier on the red carpet of the Oscars, Gaga paraded her curves in another dazzling Atelier Versace creation and, reportedly, over $5 million worth of Lorraine Schwartz jewels. She was still, of course, wearing those skyscraper platforms.

Rapper The Game Brings Posse and Gold Jewelry to Katsuya

If there is one thing that sets hip-hop and rap artists apart from other artists in the entertainment industry, it is their bling. While most actors and singers would only bust out their gold jewelry for red carpet events, rap artists usually use them as everyday accessories. We wouldn’t be surprised if they slept with their bling on.

Last week, rapper The Game had dinner at Katsuya with his posse. To amp up his clean white outfit, he decided that red sneakers and chunky jewelry were in order. Check out his look:

Do you want to copy The Game’s look without spending all of your life’s savings on one piece of jewelry? We found a very affordable and interesting Medusa chain necklace:

If you want the real deal, here are a few Versace necklaces:

It looks like Medusa chains are huge among rappers. Other artists who have been spotted sporting Medusa necklaces are Chris Brown, Rihanna, Justin Bieber, and Tyga.

If money comes easy for you, you don’t have to settle for the Versace necklaces we featured above. You can get the chunkiest Medusa head jewelry custom-made.

Check out Tyga’s iced-out necklace that was custom-made for him by Jason of Beverly Hills:

Is that the insanest jewelry you have ever seen? While we would never wear a necklace like that, we do appreciate the work that was put into creating the jewelry. The quote from Gianni Versace that was engraved in Tyga’s necklace was also a nice touch that’s really apt for today’s music royalties: “In the past people were born royal. Nowadays, royalty comes from what you do.”
