Alexa Chung, Kiernan Shipka Top This Week’s Best Dressed

Celebrities didn’t get a break this week. In between the Golden Globes and the Critics’ Choice Awards, there were a slew of other events (including those Golden Globes after-parties) to keep them busy.

Kiernan Shipka proved she’s only getting more stylish with age in a ’70s-tinged pants look, Alexa Chung presented a refreshingly subtle approach at the Globes and Keira Knightley wore a bunch of bows without looking like a porcelain doll. Or maybe she did, but we’re OK with it.

Click through for all that and the rest of this week’s best dressed.

The Brad Pitt vs. Natalie Dormer Side Shave Edition

In general, the SAG Awards are usually a bit of a snooze. There’s no marquee host (or pair of hostesses –missed you Tina and Amy!) and it gets a little bit old watching all the actors pat themselves on the back for being actors.

There were definitely some fantastic fashion and beauty moments, though — looking at you, Lupita Nyong’o and Cate Blanchett. But there was one hair style that two disparate, yet equally awesome, actors shared: Behold, the side shaves on Brad Pitt and Natalie Dormer. (Jaime Pressly debuted a side shave at a film premiere last week, too. Random.)

Dormer, who plays Margaery on Game of Thrones, most likely got the dramatic cut because she’s playing Cressida in Mockingjay, the third and final Hunger Games movie. In the book, Cressida has a completely shaved head that’s tattooed with green vines. It seems like she only shaved one side, but it’s hard to tell because her hair is so long on the other side. As far as Brad, he’s been filming the World War II-era film, Fury; his cut definitely looks vintage (evidence here).

Dormer wins, in my opinion, because…braid. Also she has a more nicely shaped head. Weigh in on this important issue in the comments.

...I was at Ann Taylor's holiday 2012 preview!

Me with the voice and brains of social media at Ann Taylor. Too bad about my awkward sweater sag :S, but note the upflip of my left snakeskin platform Rudsak shoe

I know you don't really want to think about holiday gifting (neither do I, really) so here's just a pic of me at the event with the social media guru from Ann Taylor's head office in NYC.
